  • Something went VERY wrong when I installed win2k 5.04

May have been the drivers, maybe not. Some others have experienced the same problem http://forums.murc.ws/ubb/Forum5/HTML/008362.html but since I´ve got an error installing 5.04 (installation cancelled, file is missing) I couldn´t install a single new driver without getting some kind of error. Not even changing the plug n play monitor to another one.

I´m typing this from a win2k fresh new install, first thing I did was install 5.04 and all is fine, I didn´t get that error.

Anyone has a clue what went wrong?

I was spoking too early, it is doing the same. Aparently it has something to do with ACPI. I changed it to standard pc (althougth I got an error message when I was doing it), it rebooted and detected all hardware again and it´s fine.

All of this is hapenning since I installed 5.04. Maybe 5.04 + gigabyte + ACPI is a no-go. (I wonder how Gigabyte´s latest GA-7IX bios even supported ACPI, now I know)
