  • How's Them Here Benchmarks

OK, I know its not the latest but I ran 3DMark99Max at default (800x600x16) on a 700MHz Athlon/K7Pro/G400Max machine I built for a client
    700 MHz
    5424 3DMarks
    11402 CPUMarks

    791 MHz (7x113)
    5675 3DMarks
    12236 CPUMarks

at 700 MHz the game results were Race 59.0, FPS 50.6
    Never checked at 791 MHz
This was using a paltry master Cooler HS/Fan
Ran stably up to 113 MHz at 1.70 V
Tried 114 at 1.75 but I wouldn't fully go into win98. Did not want to push it too hard so I left it at that.
    How do these scores rate?
My first experience with a G400Max and also K7Pro. No problems whatsoever, no conflicts with SBLive! X-Gamer. NHSHS runs like a dream.
I'm very impressed with the speed and clarity of the Max to put it mildly. Must get one, they're coming down in price, when I ordeed the one for the above system they were $198, now $189 (at www.mwave.com )
BTW has anyone used Sonique 1.50 with the wild Tangent Vis? IMO it r0xX

ohh and I ran it at 800x600 16b 16b zbuffer drivers PD 5.30

Your 791 should come close to my 800 hmm maybe its you mobo.

        Here is some AMD benchmarks:
        800mhz
        CPUMark:15527
        3DMarks:8244

        Hardware use in AMD testing
        Motherboard ASUS K7V(Kx-133 chipset)
        Soundcard Integrated Sound
Video Card Creative Labs GeForce 256 Annihilator 32MB DDR
        System mermory 256mb VC133

My goal is to beat the Geforce and prove the G400 is the best and I am real close just 161 points off. And AMD had a DDR Geforce to bad no 3dnow support in the drivers then G400 would kill the DDR.

          Hey ski,

How do you like that EPoX board? I'm looking at getting the same one myself for my G400.

I thought the 3DMark looked a little slow.
I also noticed that the hard drive (Maxtor 5400 rpm that gave me 20 MB/s on my lowly VA503+ mobo was giving me half of that. The guy already has the machine but I'll try to get it back and ensure that it is in the best possible shape.
I am unsure as to the BIOS that it shipped with, but know that the 1.5 bios fixes some issues with the G400.
The ambient temperature is closer to 30 degrees Celsius than 25 here unless you're in A/C so that might have something to do with it.
BTW Greebe, working on any thing for thunderbird? or does the Socket A setup preclude them there things. That's what I am looking to get for myself, but not til summer. (No money)
