  • Which drivers for Asus k7v (Kx133 chipset)?

    Hi
I've been away for along time from this board, but then again I haven't had a single problem with my g400. Now I'm moving over to an Athlon platform with Asus k7v, which uses the same chipset as the epox kx133. Which drivers work well with this and are there any tweaks or installation procedures I should be aware of???

I seriously doubt that anybody here has the K7V yet. Unless of course they have godlike powers and connections out the arse. In fact, doing a quick check on Pricewatch shows that the there are a number of people who claim that they will be getting the board, however, the ETA's have been pushed back yet again(I've been tracking it for the past 2 weeks or so).

However, since it is a KX133 board, and people have reported a fair amount of success with any driver they try on the Epox 7kxa (also KX133), then I would suspect that any driver you try should work quite well.

I know thats not really a real answer , but it's probably the best your going to get for a while.

Good Luck when you get the board.

Depends on where you live in the world. It has been out for a quople of days here in Sweden. Anyway, I expect that whatever goes for the Epox mobo will work for K7V. Any sucess stories on epox and g400?. D3D is most important for me. I really don't care much for FPS-games

I have the EP-7KXA with a G400Max. I'm using the 5.52 set for Win98SE, and 5.03 for Win2K (which need more work!). There does seem to be an issue with the VIA chipset and TurboGL. Q3 is the only game that I have which fails to run. Just that I don't play Q3 much, so no real problem as far as I'm concerned. Still hoping VIA gets things going as far as the AGP miniport though. It could be more "robust".

Well for the G400 I use the PD 5.30 and turboGL 1.0 this is how I got Q3 running UT will run on any driver I also use VIA 4in1 4.20 drivers. Make sure you get some good ass memory as well ohh you won't have a Athlon system running I also got a sparkle 300watt power supply and works perfect, I don't have a vortex card so I can't help there. When should you have your system?

I'm ordering my parts as soon as the shop writes back to me and say if they have any w52 550 Athlon's. Otherwise I'll go for a 700.

So to sum it up: I can use the latest drivers for d3d, but if I want to play Q3 and UT I'll have to go for the 5.30 drivers? In addition I should use the 4in1 v.4.20 (=the latest?)
