  • Dual Head problems - please help

    Hello all,

I have just recieved mu new Sony monitor and was very excited to try it with my old 17" monitor. I have expanded my desktop, and I am able to move windows, menubars and alike around on the two screens. My mainreason for the DualHead option, was working with Photoshop. But Photoshop is the only appl. where I'm not able to move the different tool bars. I'm able to move the window with the picture, but the different toolbars are only moveable into 1/10 of the other screen. Am I missing some point here, or is it because I need to purchase a newer upgrade, I'm currently using version 4.01.
    Any help would be appriciated.

4.01 of the G400 drivers or photoshop? Either way, an upgrade would help. The newest G400 drivers are 5.52 for Win9x and Photoshop is up to version 5.5.

I use the latest Matrox drivers, and the 4.. was refering to Photoshop. I know Photoshop is up to 5.5 now but that's costing to move to version 5... But I think I'll try their demo, to see if that's going to solve my problems... Anyway thanx for the info..

I don't think that will help, El Diablo, as several programs prefer to be on the primary monitor. Don't ask me why, but a program like ICQ won't deviate from the primary to the secondary monitor.

Maybe something to do with overlays or what the second head doesn't have that the primary has? (Kruzin?)

I also see that when I start Netscape on my second monitor, that my bookmarks will show on the first monitor, when I look for something... very annoying yes, but I don't think it's NS's fault, more something to do with what the primary and secondary output in the G400 can do and can't do.

What you might try to use is PSP 6 though... it'll live happily on the second monitor

Thanx for ur info. I really think Photoshop is able to run on two monitors, the Matrox homepage is showing some dualhead pictures and I'm sure Photoshop is on one of the pictures... But anyway I have removed my old 17", I could not belive what an ugly picture the monitor had compared to my new Sony....I guess I'll try again, when I can affort an extra Sony monitor....I'm not sure I'll go back to PSP again, it's a nice program but I'm too happy with Photoshop....

          Thanx

..when I hit ctrl f twice I get the normal fullscreenmode with no menu, and only the tools. I can still only move the remaining toolbars 10% into the second screen....

I PhotoShop all day long under NT in DH mode and never had the prob you mentioned ...

              Don't know if it's a prob of V4, 'cos I'm pn 5.02 ...

What happens if you set your PhotoShop window to full screen mode ?
Does also extend only to ~10% of your 2ndary monitor ?
Despite my nickname causing confusion, I am not female ...
