  • How to connect the DH to TV with RGB signal?

    Hello and sorry for my english...
    I've a G400 MAX and I've builded the cable to connect it to my TV with the RGB signals via the SCART connector...
    To make the cable I've used a scheme provided by a friend of mine and now i can view the movies on the AV channel VERY WELL... but if i set my TV on a channel while my PC is playing a DVD i cannot view the TV because I've the two images merged. This happens also when I use the teletext of my TV... I see the G400 signal overlapped to the teletext. Anyone know if I've made some error?
    The scheme I've used to make the cable is the following:

    G400 minidin
    7 pin <--------------> SCART

    1 (red/blue ground) <----> 5/13
    2 (green/rgben grnd) <---> 9/18
    3 (red signal) <---------> 15
    4 (green signal) <-------> 11
    5 (blue signal) <--------> 7
    6 (rgben signal) <-------> 16
    7 no used

    On the SCART connector I've used also the pins 2-4-6 for audio connection and the pins 17-20 for composite connection.

    PLEASE HELP ME!!!! if I've the PC powered i cannot view the television.

      Did you configure your PowerDesk to use SCART-RGB instead of Composite/S-Video ???

        Yes, I've tried all the possible options...
        All the powerdesk options are done, i've selected the SCART-RGB etc...
        If anyone want the connector: I've to build it MANUALLY... I've used a special glue after the insertion into the female connector of pins builded with wire of copper welded with tin. The connector works fine (otherwise i cannot view the movies from my PC) and i've used a professional cable (the length is 4mt) that i've payed $40.

        My TV is a 13 years old Seleco 22" but it works very fine.
        I need to know if the connector is mistaken of if exist another way to make the RGB connection please send me the pins sequence.
        THANK YOU!

          I'd say that was a shortcoming of your television.
          You could try the luma and chroma connections instead - I forget the pins.

              Not an ideal solution but you could use a Scart switch box with the PC cable connector to socket 1 and nothing on socket 2, this would act as an on/off switch which would be better than unplugging and reconnecting the cable.

              Just a thought.

                    Hi Roberto - sorry I didn't check back for a few days. I'll try to dig out the details and post later today/tomorrow.
                    I was sold all the connectors and given the pin-connections by a hifi shop with a specialist connectors department.
                    The amazing thing was it all worked first time and the quality was way better than the TV-out of my old G200.
                    Hope you get it fixed.
                    Tony.

                      Hi, your problem looks weird. It may be that your TV is interpreting the "RGB en" signal in a funny way, I would try to disable the pin 16 to try that out. And I suppose you have checked for all possible shorts in your wires/connectors?

                      A quick and dirty option would be to disable DVD max and Dual head in general while watching the TV, but that would mean you had to walk to your PC and do that each time.
