  • AGP memory is only 32MB?

    Hi folks,
Haven't been able to solve this problem yet. Even though my aperature is 128MB, dxdiag reports 32MB total video memory available. It used to be 70+ MB with my G200.
I'm running the 4.61 AGP patch, 5.52 drivers, and I've tried USB on,off, reinstalling path & drivers.
I haven't forced AGP 1x yet, but I will if y'all think that might help.
No IRQ conflicts, and the G400 is on IRQ 9.

I can't think of anything else that might help...

Rob, what dxdiag tells me is that I have:

      System memory: 256Mb
Swap file: 78Mb used, 171Mb available
AGP memory monitor 1: approx. 16Mb
AGP memory monitor 2: approx. 16Mb

With the old DirectX (4.0 and later till 5.x), it would report the Apertured part of physical memory as AGP memory as well. I think that's the problem

Try DirectX7 Control Panel (have to download it) in the DirectDraw tab:

The memory available to DirectDraw is the AGP texturing memory.

        It´s more reliable, I think.

          Thanks guys.
That's what I was thinking of, Jorden. I thought it used to include the aperture.
