  • dualhead refresh rate problem

ok, i am trying to run dual monitors at 32bit, 1280x1024, and 85 hz. i know that both my monitors support this resolution and refresh. i am able to get these settings on my primary display, but my secondary display has a max rez of 75hz, and i cant increase it even in monitor settings. i have tried switching outputs on my dualhead, but the same problem happens no matter what monitor is my secondary display. any insight or help would be most appreciated.
    thank you

The refresh rate/screen size limit for the second monitor of a dualhead arangement is as stated in the Matrox G400 users guide as 1280*1024@32bpp with a refresh rate of 75Hz. So it will not go up to that refresh rate due to the secondary RAMDAC. Hope this helps.

      Yup.
You've hit the limit on the second head. If you insist on having 85Hz, you'll need to drop to 16bit, or a lower resolution.

ok, thanks for that, i thought the cap was 85hz. i tried my second display at 16bit and 1280x1024 and it could still only do 75hz. am i still hitting the limit there or should i be able to go to 85hz?
        thanks
