  • Marvel G200-TV, H/W DVD Addon & DTS Decode Pass-Through

When used with the Matrox Marvel G200-TV, does the Matrox hardware DVD decoder pass through DTS datastreams to the S/PDIF connector on the Marvel G200-TV? I don't know anyone who has a DTS-encoded DVD to test whether the Marvel/DVD addon combo will pass the DTS through the S/PDIF connector on the BOB and onto my AC-3/DTS decoder/receiver. Can anyone test this or verify that this works?

    Background on DTS:
DTS Audio, developed by DTS Labs, is a 6-channel audio format that is similar to Dolby Digital audio, but less compressed, meaning that when the audio is decoded, less information is lost than Dolby Digital. DTS requires a seperate decoder capable of DTS decoding and is not compatible with Dolby Digital decoders.

This is definitely a question for the Matrox TS gods.

Definitive answer over at the Matrox official TS forum.
