  • what is vbext.exe???

    Hey,

My roommate loaded some stuff from the Matrox disk on my computer and now it's loading vbext.exe at start up from the autoexec.bat. What does this little program do?

    Thanks

Oh.. and should I keep it or rem it?

It's a VESA driver. If you don't use any DOS programs it's safe to delete it. If you do play alot of DOS games there's an updated version of that program that gives you vesa 3.0. I've always wondered why Matrox only put Vesa 2.0 in their video cards bios instead of 3.0. My old TNT1 has Vesa 3.0 in the bios. Oh well.

    C:\DOS\RUN
    \RUN\DOS\RUN

Yeah, wonder why they don't put VESA 3.0 in Bios.....

It's hard to play Duke3D at its best without the latest VESA support!
