Well since you are Running a 150Mhz FSB on an Abit you are really sreaming along...

I'd make sure you were in AGP1x, even though I'm pretty possitive it wouldn't boot to AGP2x..

Then I'd move the memory Timings in the Bios back as far as I could.. slowing them down might help with stability..

If you have the ability with the Abit BF6, I'd suggest upping the VIO voltage to say 3.5v for starters and up to about 3.7... I have mine there on my Asus, without any problems and I have run 150Mhz FSB stably with my G200 and an Unlocked P2-333..

After all that... I would say your G400 doesn't like the 150Mhz FSB... and then if you wanted to enjoy 900Mhz (who wouldn't) then I'd upgrade to a VIA 133 or 133a...

    Good luck
    Craig

Hey Stringy Thanks for the fast reply :~) my ram timings are slow and I ran a new ramtester program I found through the General Hardware forum ..I'm pretty sure the g400 just needs some "Convincing" that an AGP bus at 100mhz is a good thing.. Im close I can feel it.. Matt

I noticed you were having a problem with 3DMark2000. Is it just with 3DMark2000?

I have my PIII 600E to 800 Mhz on a BX board, so the G400 is running at 89 MHz. Everything is working, including Quake 2 and 3 and 3DMark99 Max, except 3DMark2000. Typically, I was getting crashes to the desktop during the helicopter and polygon tests.

I did everything I could think of. I switched my CAS2 PC100 RAM with expensive PC133 RAM. I tweaked the BIOS endlessly. I experimented with different drivers, reinstalled 3DMark2000 a couple of times, and then reinstalled Windows. Nothing seemed to work ...

        Until I did this:

Put PC100 RAM back in machine and reset memory timings back to 2-2-2, convinced 3DMark2000 will not run at this bus speed.

Write four page article about overclocking the 600E.

State catagorically that 3DMark2000 absolutely will *not* run on this machine with a 133 MHz front side bus.

Spend several hours doing the worst html job in history.

Send article off to editor, who is well known on this forum.

The following day, 3DMark2000 will run perfectly. You can run it five times in a row screaming "crash, you son of a bitch! CRASH!," and it'll remain stable as a rock.

I don't mean to make light of your problem, but this *was* how I got it to work. If you're only having problems with 3DMark2000, possibly this problem will sort itself out when your PC settles in a bit.

If your having problems with all 3D programs, then I suspect your AGP board at 100 MHz may be the problem.

Yea Unreal locks up at 900 but they ,including 3dmark 2000,run fine at 852. Of course I wanna go 900 or more if I can ,as long as the cpu, mem, hds, nic, and sound are happy Im thinkin I gotta just stabalize the G400... But I dont know how to set mga tweek for EXTREAM Overclocking Joy Sooo Im trolling the smart gurus of this forum I want my 900Mhz back Waaaaaaaaa... Matt
