  • Hibernate with W2K

Does anybody have the hibernate tab enabled ?

On my computer it is not visible and I don´t know why.

    I have.

Check if you have an ACPI compatible Mobo. I believe it's an ACPI only function.

If you have a ACPI compatible system, then I have no idea :0)

      It´s not due to ACPI.
Hibernate should work with or without ACPI.
      Even without APM.

The PC is running with ACPI enabled - deteted by W2K
Even forcing W2K not to use ACPI won´t solve the problem.

The mainboard is a Gigabyte BX2000 and worked fine with ACPI under W98SE.

i have the hibernate function available to me and i have a non acpi hal, i tried it and it worked, but then i disabled it to reclaim the 512 mb of hd space it wanted.

my hal is a "MPS Multiprocessor PC", in my bios i have a compatability flag setting...acpi aware os...yes/no, set to yes. win2k powers down my monitor and scsi hdds' perfectly.

          Thanks !
You are using the 5.03 drivers ??

It seems to be a driver problem ( if one driver does not support this feature it will be disabled ), I think.... :-?

So if it works with this driver I have to take a look over the other ones....

yes i am using the final win2k drivers. there is another interesting aspect to pm in win2k...that being the power button on newer systems.

for example; my system bios has an option to set the power buttons' behaviour...on/off or suspend. this causes win2k to behave differently. i built this system myself and it is based around an AMI motherboard.

Well, I was able to hibernate before I installed the friggin Realmagic H+, which just disabled it alltogether. Anybody know how to fix this?
