  • Mixing G200 + G400 on W2K

    I have a G400 dual head running a 15 inch and a 20 inch monitor on Windows 2000.

If I disable the dual head and get a G200 PCI card and run one monitor from each of the cards, can I then, finally and at long last, get independant resolutions from W2K?

I have been waiting for this for so long, even if they intend to get the G400 doing this by itself, I'm still willing to buy and temporarily fit another card to tide me over. Then again, when the time comes perhaps I could just get a third monitor!

The answer is yes - I run 4 different cards under Win2k, all of them at different resolutions and color depths.

You may need to ditch PowerDesk though - it is not multimonitor friendly, even under Win98.

Great, thanks! I assumed I needed to buy a G200 since Matrox did not list a W2K driver for my old Millenium. But I popped it in and Windows recognised it and now I have everything working perfectly.

Thanks again - I had your reply in less than 5 minutes!!
