resolution question

I have a p2 233 (overclocked at 266)
qdi legend 1v motherboard
128mb ram
matrox g400 max

All games like q2,q3 unreel tournament run superbly
but i cant get anything to run higher than
1024x768

in all the reviews of the card they boast much highter resolutions than what i am getting.

Any ideas

What kind of monitor do you have? Does it support resolutions above 1024x768?

Gadget, with your system, which is relatively slow, you don't want to attempt to run in resolutions above 1024x768. Almost every review I read when the board came out commented on how the G400 was "CPU Limited." This can be a good thing if you have a fast CPU and you upgrade every once in a while.

Your PC is well past its prime and higher resolutions, even if your monitor supports them, are most likely going to slow you down to the point where the game is unplayable.

oops, just realised that it is my monitor that doesnt support anything higher than 1024
