  • NEW VIA DRIVERS OUT 4IN1 VERSION 4.20 AND AGP VERSION 4.00

    On the tawain site
    also I noticed this announcement

    Windows® 2000 Drivers
Microsoft® has incorporated VIA drivers into the Windows® 2000 opeating system. No new drivers are available at this time.

Some users may be experiencing limited USB support with Windows® 2000. This problem will be corrected with a USB filter driver which enables Windows® 2000 to detect USB peripherals with VIA chipsets. The USB Filter driver is under development and will be posted on our website upon completion. VIA apologizes for any inconvenience

It would be nice of someone actually knew
    what these drivers fix.

For some unknown reason, VIA is not so kind
to share this information with us this time.

      That's good

Let's hear some more success stories.

I currently have no problems with my system. And I cannot see a reason to fix something that's not broke.

Tried 'em on my old Soyo, and they disabled my cd burner which is on IDE1master.

Back to the old version and running again.

        Any Ideas Why??

AGP 2x has never been particularly difficult with a G400, but will they get me AGP 2x on my old G200? I went through more reinstalls of Win98SE than I care to remember with the last VIA drivers, I'm a little scared to try the new ones unless they really help. The last ones automatically installed DMA for my apparently non-UDMA HDD, crashing WIndows and wiping out win.com. I'm not going through that again unless there is some real benenfit.

i dont know about the other drivers that they released, but the AGP driver seems to actually let me run in AGP 2X with no lock ups (so far --knock on wood) and without having to force it, which none of the previous 4-in-1 drivers allowed me to do!
