  • Win2000 Driver Status update

I spoke with Matrox tech support on Thursday (as I was installing Win2000 Pro...). The person I spoke with (sorry, can't remember his name) indicated new divers should be out sometime this week.

    Perhaps, even possibily by Monday.

'nuf to say Matrox is supporting as many OS's as possible, and seems to be doing a better job of turning out drivers than other companies...

That's great but if it is this week I would expect later in the week than early.

The more i know, the less I think I
know (or something like that) . Anyway,
could someone explain what exactly is
            involved in the certification process
of drivers (WHQL drivers). What is
involved in the testing process as far
as hardware and software tested ? Are
these just beta drivers that passed the
            tests, or a version update ? I guess I'm
looking to hear that they are tested on every major MB and CPU combination (or at least the one I have) rob_b
            pentium III @550mhz
            intel 440BX pci chipset
            512mb memory, g400max,
            cybervision C70 monitor
            win2000 on maxtor 8.4 gb

I assume drivers are tested in-house with several configurations, and then manufacturers look to their beta testers and user feedback for bug reports.
