  • How do you enable vsync on 98se w/G400

I have horrid shearing when I play games. I looked in the registry and noticed the only entry in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Matrox\Powerdesk\Curre nt Settings is OGL wrapper "1". I assume this is saying that the TurboGL is installed and enabled. I take it that this means no vsync for me. Am I off base in assuming that vsync being disabled would cause this shearing issue? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Even getting flamed as long as it is helpful would be alright.

VSync is enabled via default.. if you want.. goto the downloads and get Ant's registry hacks and you can force VSync On/Off as well as other items.

Oh yeah.. using the SEARCH functions is always helpful. SInce topic involving VSync have come up regularly.

Or you can get the matrox tweak utility which has a FlipOnVBlank option, allthough I'm not sure it controls the TurboGL as well.

Matrox tweak utility only works with d3d as I understand.

I'm in the same boat. What are your system specs and PD version? Thought I had it whipped but the shearing is back big time.

Some games allow you to control Vsync with an option within the game itself. I know Quake3 has this option.
