  • g400 and celeron 448, quake3 performance?

I have the the opportunity to buy a barely used g400 32mb(non max and not dual head) from a friend for a very decent price to replace my v3 2000@171mhz. I'm going to use it mainly for quake3 and dvd playback and really like the idea of 32bit colour and really crisp colours.
The main problem is opengl drivers for it, I know that the turbogl icd gives decent performance but all the benchmarks are on p3's and I've heard that SIMD is the main contributor to the speed increases. Turbogl supports celerons also now, does anyone know if it actually has any effect and what kind of frame rates I could expect?
    My machine is currently a celeron 266@448, Asus p2b, 64mb ram and v3 2000@171mhz. In q3 demo1 and 2 I get ~55fps in 800*600 with a whole host of tweaks.
