  • G400 Media player Ablitity (Test yours)

I recently ran into an interesting situation that shows bad memory management in the G400.
1.)Try running a Mpeg video of 30mb or so in Windows Media player.
2.)Then maximise the screen. Now pause this video and minimise it.
3.)While that one is open, open another one and try using fullscreen.

On my system the effect of doing this causes the media player to temparly change my res to the res of the mpg instead of streching to my present res as it normally does. With one video this is not a problem. Also if I try to maximise the window of the playing video it has lines across it while playing.
It seems as if it doesnt have enough video ram to do this task well.

    Win98 SE
    533 PIII (133 bus)
    Abit Be6-II
    128 Mb PC133
    PCI 128 SB

I do have PCI IRQ sharing but nothing else seems to complain like this.

I've had problems with lockups and stuttering while playing large MPEG's since upgrading to Version 6.4.
