Video/Audio Capture For Copy Protected Material?

I've encountered a problem with the Ulead MediaStudio and the built-in recorder in the PC-VCR Software. It seems that it will not let me record any audio or video to my PC.

Is there a way of working around it, and if so, how?

If not, any recommendations for other software? (or is this copy protection feature built into my rainbow runner?)

I've found the link to "idiots guide to desktop video" and seem to leading toward finding a crack for the software...

I prefer not to do this, so could someone still recommend software that doesn't have this macrovision copy protection built-in?

Macrovision protection is built-in to the RR capture drivers themselves, not into the applications. Therefore any capture utility that uses these drivers will have the same problem.

The protection should ONLY be triggered if you try and copy from a Macrovision protected source, NOT from your own material.

Exactly what error message are you getting ?
