Marvel G400 vs Asus V6600 Deluxe

I'm still looking for video editing card to buy. My budget is limited (Dfl 800,-- = USD 380) and I'm hesitating.
From what I've seen / heard my heart goes out to the Marvel G400, but then again there are some strong competitors:
ATI wonder 128, DC 10+ and now I've read an article about the V6600.

What is a good choice, criteria for me will be:
* rendering speed;
* error free capturing (speed?);
* software compatibility (what software products do support the cards)
* money :-)

I hope some of you will find the time to answer me?

The ATI AIW is a software-only codec board, and can't be seriously considered for video capture. I've just spent a while looking for information on the V6600, and it's interesting how little Asus actually have to say about this aspect of the card in their own sales pitch. Again there is no mention of a hardware Codec, so the video capture aspect of the card is basically a bit of marketing and nothing more.

Before I tell you any more about the Marvel or DC10+, please let me know what display card you are currently running

Currently my system is using a Diamond Fire 1000 GL Pro display card.

Well if you are happy with the Diamond then the DC10 should work well with it.

If you are already thinking of upgrading the graphics card then the G400 Marvel is a great piece of kit.

The price would be about the same either way

I have the ASUS V3800 TNT2 Ultra Deluxe. It's almost identical to the
V6600 except that the V6600 is a GeForce.

I'm pretty happy about it. It works fine.
And I read that the V6600 includes more software (editing)
than the V3800 (I have Adobe Premiere so it doesn't matter).

Anyway, if you have a nice system AND you want kick ass 3D support,
pick the V6600. Plus, as long as you don't get their 4.0 Live (it's in beta),
capturing MacroVision is not a problem (with the Marvel, it's different, you'll need
a crack...).

But if you've got more money, I suggest a card from Pinnacle Systems
(<A HREF="http://www.pinnaclesys.com">I think the URL is this.</A>).
But you'll have to spend about 1000USD.

The DV500 is nice, both digital and analog. And it comes with loads of software.
My guess is that it costs about 2000USD, maybe more.
