  • G400 16MB SH and stuttering audio

Just put together my first system that has had a problem with the G400. Have a Soyo 6VBA133, PIII 500 (not overclocked) and a G400 16MB SH with a SB 128 PCI. No conflicts or shared IRQ's, the latest SB drivers, the latest VIA 4 in 1's, DirectX 7, AGP 1X, 128 Aperture. The tech demo starts off with the audio OK then once the video portion begins the audio starts crackling and stuttering. Video is fine. Any ideas

Strange problem, your Mobo is very new and the SB is a couple generations old. Might be some compatibility issues. Have you e-mailed Soyo yet?

      hi,

try to reduce the PCI latency in the BIOS settings (PNP/PCI). try 32, 16 or 8

What was the "stuttering" like? Continuous or periodicaly appearing? And what about the animation reaction when this appears? - Perhaps slowing down for that moment.
