Instructions for making the 5.50 Beta g400 drivers work with a g200
Hi,
I have a Millennium g200, and I was disappointed to find out that the new 5.50 beta drivers were for the g400 only. So I decided to do something about it. I noticed the 5.50 g200 drivers were in the g400's zip file. The only thing not allowing you to install em was the installation program. Here is what you need to do to get the 5.50 drivers working for the g200.
- Download the g400 5.50 drivers. (w9x_550.exe)
- Download the g200 5.41 drivers. (w9x_541.exe)
- Run the self-extracting exe on both files. (This will extract the drivers to c:\mgafold\w9x_550 and c:\mgafold\w9x_541 respectively)
- Copy the install.inf file from c:\mgafold\w9x_541\ to c:\mgafold\w9x_550\ overwriting the file in the w9x_550 directory.
- Run the setup.exe in c:\mgafold\w9x_550\
- Follow the directions in the install program and select your g200 when it prompts you to
