  • When do I need a BNC cable?

    Hello All,

I am using a Matrox G400 video card together with the Samsung SyncMaster 700IFT monitor. I use the 1280x960 resolution (32-bit colour, 85Hz refresh rate) in Windows and the picture is not as sharp as I would like it to be.

Under these circumstances, would I see a noticeable improvement by using a set of BNC cables to connect my monitor?

If so, what brand of BNC cable is highly recommended?

    Thanks in advance,
    Anthony

I think you would see a difference, to get one, contact Samsung, their cables are very well built.

Or, better yet, change the monitor to something more reasonable.

Seriously, at this resolution DSUB15 should be as good as BNC, so I would rather blame the monitor. Above 1280x1024, there should be some advantage of using BNC cable (and some disadvantage - lack of DDC).
