  • G200+NT/SMP+Driver 4.34.015=crap???

I just get horrible frame rates with this combination in quake 3 demo 1.09 with the r_smp 1 command. i was wondering if anyone else was having this problem. I get better frame rates in Win98 using one proc than in NT using two =(
    my system setup is:
dual 366 overclocked to 567 each (stable), 384mb sdram,
    G200 8mb sgram agp
9.1gb westerndigital 7200 rpm on promise ultra66 controller
cheesy yamaha xg 724 sound card
    NT workstation 4 SP6a, G200 NT driver 4.34

That's because you're using the demo.

It actually works with the full version of the game. I haven't been able to get RC2 to work with the G400, but I tried it with a TNT2U (and a bit of minor driver surgery). I got a sizable framerate increase--about 30% if memory serves me correctly.

This was with Windows 2000, by the way. I don't know what the issues are with NT.

Again, I do believe, that SMP support is broken in Q3 Demo 1.09.

So the correct equation would be something like this:

      Q3 1.09 + r_smp 1 = no smp

I wonder if this will be in the Gaming forum in the morning. Hmmmmm.
