  • Freeze on Boot in Windows 2000

After installing the new beta drivers for win2k the computer would freeze during the graphical "Windows is starting" screen. When comparing the boot logs i noticed that it froze right before or just as it was loading srv.sys. Any help?

Do you have a network card? Sounds like it might be conflicting with the G400.

Also, some networking problems can cause W2k to freeze for around 5 minutes during boot, but then it will come back if you are patient enough. Check the event viewer for any error messages.

Yep, sounds like a conflict with the NIC.

Also, I just found out (the hard way, loosing FAT32 files and directories) that you better don't switch your intellimouse from USB to PS/2 after installation....
