Are the 5.41 drivers compatible with directx 7a?

I have a g400max running in win98.
Are the latest 5.41 drivers compatible with directx version 7a??

Note I am running pdesk v5.3 with the 5.41 video drivers


The reason I ask is it seems that other video boards have specific directx 7a drivers, but I have not seen any word here about the g400max.

Yes the 5.41 drivers are compatible with DX7a.
Which of the two are you using, PowerDesk 5.30 or 5.41?

Yes, DX7a, seems to work fine with the 5.41 drivers. To my knowledge I also performed and uninstall prior to installing the 5.41 drivers. So if that would update the Powerdesk drivers to later than 5.30 then it is so! I've had no difficulties in this regard in the past. Well except for the fact that DX7 would crash the 5.30 drivers!

I did a custom install of 5.41. I used the 5.3 pdesk programs with the 5.41 drivers.

I read on this board about the 5.41 pdesk using more system resources, so instead of playing I used this mod. Runs everything great.
I found out the game I was interest in (Janes FA18) runs find with dx6.1, so I don't have to load dx7a for awhile (if at all as it does break many of the other games I play).
