  • Matrox game server

    Hi Guys,

it looks like everybody's enjoying to frag over there, but did any of you think about it as what it was started like ?

    ---> Tech Support Game Server

I think besides the fun it's a perfect test station for online gaming with a possibility of direct resonance if any compatibility issue occurs ...

I already here those voices yelling:

'Since I upgraded to PD5.x my ping went down by 25% ...
Matrox, you better fix it or I'll frag you instantly'

    Reply from tech support:
'you forgot to update your busmaster drivers ... eat this ... booom'

    Or whatever ...

It could be a cool addition to this place and we could use the forum to share our online experiences (like we already do).

Also I'd like to have more games on there.
For example DH multiplayer games (two players, each uses his own screen) that are capable of additional players via the I-Net

    ...

    What do you say ?

    Any ideas or suggestions ?

<FONT SIZE=1>I hope Matrox is watching this and won't shut down the game server, due to this massive response ... hint, hint

    Cheers,
    Maggi

I think opening the server was a GREAT idea. It's becoming more popular, every day I see new MURC members on the server playing UT.
Besides using the game server for just technical purposes it's a wonderful promomtion for Matrox graphics cards and gaming. Matrox has pushed the professional applications and taken a beating from the Gaming side over the past few years. I think it's a positive step in promoting and establishing Matrox in the gaming community. This could be real fun if we get some teams together Techies, MURC, beta Boyz... Hmmm are any of the Marketing and PR guys playing UT???? This could get real popular quickly.

I'm really glad Haig was able to open it to the public over the Holidays it's been a really enjoyable experience for the MURC members who've taken advantage of it. I don't know how much longer it will be open but it's been great.

    Thanks Haig, Thanks Matrox

            Which game rob_b?

UT should ask you to put it. Nothing else to do.

For Quake 2 you need to bring down the console and type : password murc

              Dear Mr Matrox,

Will you please, Please, PLEASE, PLEASE keep the game server open to the public. It's an excellent way for newcomers to the Matrox world to show off their G-series graphics card to themselves and to their friends/foes. It will then encourage said friends/foes to go out and buy themselves a G-series card, thus increasing your profits. It also shows Matrox to be showing an interest in pleasing their customers.

              Many thanks,

              One happy camper.

I've been getting on the server at about 5:00 AM USCDT. (I'm an early riser )
That would put it about noon in W. Europe wouldn't it?
How about a game at lunch?

PS Assuming Matrox keeps it open. PLEASE?

It's noon here in the central US and the server is up right now!
So, I guess they are going to leave it up for now!

Just a quick statement for any Matrox guys that happen to be readin right now- you guys kick serious a$$!! (Not in the game, of course.. But thanks for keeping the server open).

Seriously, I've always preferred Matrox cards, when I could find them with the features I wanted, clear back to my Millenium I 2 MB that I got preinstalled in a GW2K system, all the way to my current G400Max. And I always knew you guys were the best- this just proves it. Not too many manufacturers get involved with their customers to this level.

                    Keep up the great work!

                    Thanks again.

This is the side of Matrox we REALLY would like to see more of in the future. Hey, do you think Matrox could sponsor a Tournament on the server sometime. Even if it's just for Tee shirts and mouse pads it would be a real blast.

I really like how Matrox is starting to get more involved with their customers

                        I have a question though:

Is it possible to join the server with the demo releases ?

and how do I add those nifty l'il brackets to my name ?

... Maggi [BB] would be apropriate, but it seems to be not working ...

                          Hi Maggers,

I don't know if the demo versions will work but you could always try.

To add the [BB] to your name just go into Player Setup under options and type them in after your Player name.

I don't think it will work with the demo. for one thing it does not have most of the maps.
