  • Mobo Problem

Not strictly a Matrox problem but I a having a real problem getting my MAX working

I have a Soltek sl-68A motherboard and when I attempt to use my max or my old other AGP video card I just get beeps when I try to boot up with nothing on the screen. An old PCI board works fine.

Any ideas as I don't fancy having to take the board back and then re-installing everything.

    Thanks

I would guess that your video card is not quite seated right. The beeps do have some information in them, if you've ever had the misfortune of trying to diagnose them.

Does it sould like beeeeeeeeep-beep-beep? That means that the video is not found or not installed correctly.

The AGP cards are easy to get not seated correctly because they have two levels of "gold fingers" for connectors. Different cases allow different amounts of play room to have it not seat correctly. Make sure that it is seated all the way down. You may have to bend the brackets a little bit to do this.
