    Hi there,
I have Matrox G200 with 8MB memory, the game
I'm playing is Rainbow Six, and I feel the
game speed is a little bit slow, my friend
said that I have to upgrade to 16MB.
So, should I do that? Will the 16MB memory
provides better performance for my game?

    Thanks a lot!

I'd stay with the 8mb. All increasing to 16mb will do is probably give you some more resolution options for the game. On the G200s, putting on the extra memory expansion actually slows the card down slightly. This is because the memory is not soldered on the card and responds slower than the G200 onboard memory.

First of all, I think this thread is a little both Matrox Hardware & Gaming so....God bless it....

I think it depends on your system configurations (both hardware and software) but not the size of your video ram. I had played R6 with my old G200 w/ 8MB RAM. It ran smoothly up to 800x600 (or 1024x768 I don't remember). I think by default the game setting is using "software mode". You should force it to use "hardware acceleration". And check if your desktop color depth is at 16 bit (or 32bit but I don't suggest this one) because there is no 3D acceleration for Matrox video cards at 24 bit mode. Good luck!
      I want the T&L in my G400!
