Well no go, it enabled spread spectrum and up the apeture size back up to 256 and when i run pcilist only agp1x is active. also I noticed when i run the dx7 diagnostic it says that AGP support is disabled

              Ummm...

Could it be that you are trying to reserve more AGP memory than you actually have? (256MB specified, 128MB total RAM).

                Jediphoenix,

Your syntom are quite common on most early implementation of AGP on MVP3 chipsets. I am not too sure about ALi. Some motherboard designs cannot use 256MB AGP aperture. When set to such aperture size, it can either cause Win9x to startup in safe mode or disable the AGP functionality. Indeed, some MVP3 motherboards only provide AGP aperture up to 128MB in the BIOS, like mine Microstar MS-5184.

Anyway, the size of AGP aperture doesn't have much impact on the useability of recent TurboGL. My system has only 64MB and AGP aperture set as 128MB. Worked like a champ, unlike the notes on Matrox that tells you need 128MB and 256MB AGP aperture to use TurboGL efficiently.

                Hope this help.

Hi it´s me again, YankeeeMax, heheheheh

ye i have a board like your´s, PA-2013, very good board in did. The best ATx board for Quake2, you can check in www.tomshardware.com
what ´s the sice of your HDD? if it´s big, like more than 2500Gb, and if you have or not partitions, you might know that if you managment your Windows memori, you might put your AGP aperture to 128, i Think it boot or crash if you make 256. I have 128 memori fisics, and i put in my Windows memori magment 448 MB Maximum and Minimum (2x128 + 64 + 128). The comp get´s faster performence.
your comp ram what´s it mark, Mtec? Hyunday?
                  Simens?... 8ns?10ns?...
                  tell me if you know.
                  Good luck

                      Hi jediPhoenix
I´ve been checking your problem again, sorry,
and i saw that my answer was not the best you can get, my Inglish is not the best...
Now who nead help is me. Like you know i have a PA-2013, just like your´s,and i might have the same problem as you, i have AGP x2 enable
and 128 of apeture. i´ve put 64, but still goes on, when i active pcilist it says that my grafic runs at x1, in a possible x2, stupid i think... have you resolved the problem in your comp? jedi?!!! I think maby my MillG200SGram is crasy, we never know. Or Chip VIA MVP3 might have some Problems with x2 AGP.
Sorry my last answer, ok?!!! If you could help me !!!
                      Thank´s...

                        Hi guyz,

I have my AGP at x1 too and I didn't like it so much either, I too didn't understand why. Maybe it's because my AGP aperture is set to 256MB. The question is whether to lower it to 64/128 or buy more RAM...
