Yep, I have considered that maybe it is my
chipset that's the problem. When all else
fails , I will get a new mudderboard and CPU... Rob_b

p.s. might just get one anyway !!!

        WIN2k and new Matrox drivers

The corrupted icons and text seem to have disappeared with RC3, although it took 3 hard boots before the system finally booted all the way up??? I still don't have openGL support. Q2, Q3 ,and openGL screen savers lock me up. anyone that has openGL working with RC3 please send me your cmos settings:
        PCI/VGA pallette snoop ?
        Video bios shadow ?

        C8000 - CBFFF shadow ?
        CC000 - CFFFF shadow ?
        D0000 - D3FFF shadow ?
        D4000 - D7FFF shadow ?
        DC000 - DFFFF shadow ?

        SYSTEM BIOS CACHEABLE ?
        VIDEO BIOS CACHEABLE ?
        VIDEO RAM CACHEABLE ?

        AGP APERATURE SIZE ?
        ASSIGN IRQ FOR VGA ?

I posted similar OPENGL problems a while ago on RC3 and got no solution until the new (W98)turbogl driver tips of Ant brought me to an idea: I set the AGP Aperture size to 256Mb (it was 128) and YES! it works
I have the same (less major) problems as others (Q3 delayed menu's, perfomance 30% less than win98) but at least Q2 is playable and no more system lockups!
The standard windows OPENGL screen saver still generates a GPF though.
