  • How do I set AGP to 256mb?

Sorry if it´s a stupid question but i cant find the option. Someone told me to change it in BIOS but i haven´t got that option in my BIOS.
Can you set this to 256mb even if you doesn´t have 256 MB RAM.

B.T.W. The new TurboGL-drivers are fantastic. In Q3 my FPS jumped from 23.5 to 34 in 800X600 32bit. YEEAAHHH!!!!

    Hi Petter...

It would help if you could provide us with more info. What is the make and model of your motherboard, or if you don¹t know that, at least what is the make of the BIOS (AMI, AWARD, Phoenix)...

    Help is on the way

I´m not home right now but I have a HP Vectra and I think it is HP:s motherboard as well. I think the BIOS AMI.

        Somehow I knew it Petter

        Those damned brand name comps!

Ask McRhea if he is somewhere around how his Gateway was performing all nice and preconfigured to the best! And yes he also has a crappy AMI bios...
Well I think Jorden is the BIOS master here So hope he shows up!
If he doesn't I'll do my best...

Uppgraded my BIOS, no extra features. Can I set my AGP to 256 in some other way?

              Heh... sorry my fault...

              AMI isn't crappy... AWARD is!

Well you should find the AGP aperture size in Advanced Options I think... It's just under the SDRAM RAS/CAS settings...

It says something like Set AGP aperture size: and then one of the following numbers 4, 8, 16, 32, 64, 128, 256 Mb

Well, I'm not sure I'll get back to you when I get home...

                Hello there!
But what is that setting for?
I also have one in my Bios.
Something like what you guys mentioned.
                What exactly is it for?
                Thanks.

The best feature of AGP is that we can use main memory as the video card texture memory. The number stands for the size of the main memory you reserved for the video card. It is usually recommended set to the size of your RAM. But in order for TurboGL function properly, we need to set it to 256 in many cases.
                  I want the T&L in my G400!
