  • G400 DH, clone to TV flickering

Hi there. I seem to temember that originally all was OK, and even during 3d accelerated games I got a pretty nice picture on my PAL TV using the "Clone" feature of Powerdesk.

However, now there is really awful flickering, it kinda looks like the TV out is reading the wrong display buffer (background buffer) or something (picture sometimes appears in the TV before it appears on the primary display), or that VSYNC is totally off.

I have tried fooling around with various parameters (VSYNC, triple buffering), and the only way I have managed to get it right is when forcing the primary and secondary displays to use the same refresh rate (50 Hz... ).

Has anybody else encountered this kind of behaviour, and even more importantly, has anybody been able to fix it?

Needless to say, 2d display is excellent, as is DVD max output.

Goto the adv. options, DH tab and check the Desktop TVout settings ...

In there you'll find a slider for three different anti-flicker modes ...

in your clone option in your DH tab, try unchecking the use optimal refresh rate... other thing to try is to enable VSYNC in the games you have problems to run in clone.

Thanks. The anti-flicker options I already had tried with no results. Vsync did not have an effect (which is strange", and, as I already told you, disabling optimal resolution DOES work, but who wants to look at a 50 Hz refresh rate on a computer monitor?

May this have something to do with the fact that for a brief while I had DOS TV-out enabled, but I did re-flash the ordinary bios back... Any ideas?

you would then need to enable vsynch in your drivers then or manually in the game to loose the flickers.

Well, I got rid of the flickers. After re-flashing the same bios the enable VSYNC/diable VSYNC options started to work. Now I only get the flickering with VSYNC disabled. Is this normal for the G400 DH?
