DVD & G400: What do I need?

Hi all,
I'm looking to buy a DVD-Rom drive, mainly to get access to DVD movies. I've had a look about on various online stores, most of them selling the DVD rom plus a decoder card. The question I want to know is: Can I just buy the DVD-Rom without any other cards and use the G400 to play the DVD movie, or does it need the decoder card as well? Thanks in advance....

I use the Pioneer 303S without any decoder card ... crispy sharp and smooth as silk.

ATAPI Toshiba DVD 1212 model + G400 works excellent for me... compared picture with RealMagic Hollywood and couldn't find a difference...
Use Matrox DVD player or some other Cinemaster derivative....

If you dont want scsi, i picked up a matshita 5x DVD player for £45 www.scan.co.uk
