  • Ok this is very wierd, 3dmark2000

Ok I ran 3dmark2000 at 1024x768 16bit using 3dnow optimizations. I got a score of 1340 and a cpu score of 69. then I told it to use D3D T & L software and I got a score of 1462 and a cpu of 75. Now what the hell? Is 3dmark2000 wigging out on me? So without 3dnow optimizations its actually faster? That should not be should it? Opinions?

Dx7 T&L routines have SIMD code buit in (SSE and 3dNow!). My guess is that Dx7 3dNow! implementation is better than the one in the Max-FX engine.

I get the same kind of result, if you look at the individual scores you can see some places where 3D-Now! mode is faster but nothing all that interesting. Apparently G200 owners experience the opposite and I know someone with a TNT who didn't get that kind of result, so who knows? The G400 drivers could be the culprit, I'd wait to see what the DX7 version of them do before claiming anything conclusive though.

          Hi dudes !

          According to this thread: http://bbs.3dfiles.com//Forum1/HTML/020579.html
          it isn't a Matrox problem ...

I guess it is more a problem of MadOnion and/or DirectX7.
