  • Directx 7 & error code when I reboot

    Hi,

I have a Matrox Millennium II AGP, and after installing directx 7, I get the following message:

    Warning: old Directx software installed?
Description: programs using directx may run slower. Reinstall directx from your Maxtrox CD ROM or your system disk.
    Error Code Number 22

How do I fix this? If I look at the Matrox display properties, it says that directx is "unknown".

      Thanks Haig.

I went to that page first before comming here, but never though of looking at the FAQ's.

<quote>15. Will the Millenium, Millenium II, and the Mystique series of graphic cards support DX7?

You can install DX7 with these graphic cards but it won't support all the features of DX7. As a result of this, the Matrox Diagnostic will give you an error asking you to re-install DX from the Matrox CD. You can either ignore this error message or disable the Matrox Diagnostic from the Windows Start-Up.</quote>
