G400 DVDMax -- MPEG, ASF, RM, but no AVI?

Using the DVDMax feature, I can play back MPEG-2 (obviously), MPEG-1, ASF, even Real Media videos on the second display, but playing an AVI file just gives me a blank screen (plays fine on primary display). Is this file type not supported in the DVDMax feature? Will it ever be?
