  • Probably the wrong forum but......

I cant find the right formu for this, but...
Can the active desktop on Win98 support frames?
I have tried my HTML skills but to no avail.

My goal is to have 'links' to various parts of my disk embedded on my desktop. But they keep opening up in seperate windows.

-- I know this is perhaps not the best place for this, but you seem to be a nice bunch of chaps --

Finally, can you use a link to open a file, ie. File manager or Word, without going through the 'open it or save it box'.

Thanks for any help that may be offered.
If people would rather not comment due to this request being in the wrong place, perhaps you could email me.

    Cheers,
    Patrick

Just make a framed web page and add it as a desktop component. I once tried it and it worked fine.

Sorry didn't see the soap box

-Ill keep this brief and perhaps Ant/Kruzin wont notice!-

        - I have made a framed document and it works in IE5 or Netscape, but when i use it as an active desktop it opens up the new frames in IE5. I want it to update the desktop.
        Is this possible?

I dig active desktop mself.. I can make all the icons disappear.

also.. you can make a web page with two pics side by side (2048x768) and have two backgrounds... in theory at least
