  • Vsync for OpenGL???

    Hello everyone,

I have posted in the past on this subject before but for some reason I can never seem to get an answer. I know how to disable Vblank or Vsync for D3D but is there a way to both Disable/Enable Vsync under OpenGl? When I play Quake2 without the Vsync it makes me sick because of tearing. I would like to enable Vsync under OpenGl to solve this. Any answers will be appreciated.
    My System Specs Are:
    Athlon 500
    SD11
    256mb PC100 SDRAM
    G400 32mb SH
    WD Expert 7200 13gig ATA-66
    SB Live
    3Com 10/100
    Sony 400PS 19"

    Regards,
    Ed

Matrox Tweak (their own overclocker) has an option for vsynch that will affect D3D AND OGL...unlike the registry hack, which only affects D3D.

Thanks but I have tried Matrox Tweak and it only effects D3D on my system and has no effect on OpenGl whatsoever. Is there any other way to do this?

      Thanks,

It could be that the game is set up to have vsynch off.
Look for these lines in your autoexec.cfg:

        set gl_ext_swapinterval "1"
        set gl_swapinterval "1"

The first one tells Q2 to use the video card's vsynch settings, the second one forces a setting....
