  • OK, here comes a little bit more trouble, please HELP!!!!!

Ok, i´ve got some problems since i bought my new mobo. So i´ve got a G400 SH, Terratec Xlerate and a MSI-6167 mobo (Athlon 500Mhz). So all components worked fine in my old motherboard (Asus P2L97-s), yeah it was great and so i decided to buy a new mobo (first failure). So everytime i play an mpg video and i click on the menu my system hang. Sometimes, during games my system also hangs. When i disable the busmastering from the G400 everything works fine, but no Open GL game work. They all crash with a white desktop background. When i rip out the sound card, all is ok but no sound :-(((. So i tried another graphic card, my G200. With it everything works fine. But i want to use my G400. So any suggestions????

    So here is my System:
    IRQs:
    00 Systemzeitgeber
    01 Keyboard
    02 Interrupt Controller
    03 Com Port
    04 Realtek Lan Adapter
    05 IRQ-HOlder für PCI-Steuerung
05 AMD 756 PCI to USB Open Host Controller
    06 Floppy disk
    07 LPT1
    08 CMOS-/Echtzeitsystemuhr
    09 IRQ-Holder für PCI-Steuerung
    09 G400
    10 Hauppauge Win/TV
    10 IRQ-Holder für PCI-Steuerung
    11 IRQ-Holder für PCI-Steuerung
    11 Terratec Xelerate
    12 PS/2 Maus
    13 Numerischer Coprozessor
    14 AMD-756 EIDE- Controller V1.22 RC
    15 AMD-756 EIDE- Controller V1.22 RC

By the way, does anyone know what the AGP ISA Aliasing in the bios mean ?

I had the same problem with my setup (G400,K7500,FIC SD11). When I went to play games the system would hang, disabling busmastering kept things running. I installed the latest drivers for my Diamond MX300-reference drivers from Aureal, not the crap from Diamond. No more crashes; apparently the audio & video cards were having problems sharing the bus.
I don't currently play any OpenGL games, so I dont know why they're dumping you, but I've seen lots of Quake\Unreal\etc. posts so I'm sure someone can help you. Check the Matrox Gaming board for specific games.

My Athlon runs fine. Make sure you have the latest MSI bios (up to 1.3 last time I checked), and the latest AGP miniport driver from AMD.

In addition, make ABSOLUTELY sure your TurboGL driver is properly installed. For some reason the PIII driver was installed instead of the Athlon's driver. The Athlon's TurboGL driver is located in the directory you extracted the G400's drivers to, and is named mgak7tgl.dll before it is copied to your game directories and renamed to OpenGL32.dll.

      Just my $0.02
