  • G400MAX overclock

    I know, again this topic!
But please, please MAX owner, tell us how far can you overclock MAX, please!

    Micko,
I know this sounds like desperate move, but maybe, maybe I am desperate...

I have O/C-ed my MAX 115% with Matrox Tweak Utility. It seems the clock are 172.5/230 now. I tried 120% but won't work. Any other results ?

    Regards, Picard.

      Picard

Please tell me more about the settings and numbers that you used to achieve this speed.
I am currently using "power strip" I find that it does the job well.

I do think that I could squeeze alittle more speed out of the chip and hopefully with your info get it up to the speeds that you have ??? Have you got any benchmarks ???And have you found it to be very stable at these speeds???Do you also over clock your system,if so please post your specs:]

Any info on this subject would be gratefully recieved Regards Matt{:O)

Oh BTW here are my system specs :-

Mine goes up to 115% too.
It gets graphic glitches if I go higher.

Mine goes up to 120% stable using Powerstrip. I prefer it to other because it has a nice custom cursor menu (I know, big deal).

Matrox G400 Single Head (not MAX) - 158/210 - even better than MAX. Very stable.

Sometimes overclock settings are not as stable as you think, especially when using dual displays. My DH G400 32MB was fine at 160/200 when using one display, but after I added a 2nd monitor I noticed some pixel corruption showing up on pictures in IE5 on the 2nd display(no corruption on the 1st display). Turns out the memory didnt like it 200 with dual display. So 165/185 seems to do the trick.

I have my g400max running at 173/216. I set the pll to 432, and the dividers to 2.5/2/2.5.

Using 3dmark at my typical gaming resolution of 1024x768 in 32bit color -
                  scores will be = std/overclock
                  3dmark = 4760/5022
                  fill rate = 183.7/200.8
                  fill rate w/ multi-text = 199.7/220.6
                  2mb texture rendering = 212.6/232.2
                  32mb texture rendering = 54.6/56.8
