  • Which drivers better for G400 32 meg AGP?

Which are better the win98 version 5.30 on matroxs site or the 5.12.017 from microsofts hardware compatibility list? Just wondering

    Define "better"

If better is faster, and more feature-full, then it's 5.30.

If better is MS certified, a little more stable, but slower (and without turboGL, or even a recent ICD), then use the one they reccomend....

Sorry. You're on the chorus line until you post a certain amount. 100. 300. I forget which.

Well I should get my g400 in a few days, any ideas what order i should install the drivers, 4 in 1 via drivers, etc, any way that has worked better for most? also is openglICD included in 5.30 drivers? if it is then why is there a seperate link to download just the ICD. Thx

Welcome to g400 World. It is a great place to be.</a>

The link is for the beta ICD which optimizes games listed there. There is an ICD included in the driver package.

I had problems with the beta ICD in 3D Studio MAX (it caused crashes after resetting)</a> so I went back to the packaged ICD.</a>

I would start with the latest drivers and fire for effects.</a>

I'm curious. Could jediphoenix install those 4-in-1 and AGP drivers now and get this over with? My knowledge of the VIA chipset is pretty flimsy. (The BX chipset is blissfully free of these complications.)
