Frame skipping when using G400 DVD playback

When I play DVD's I get frame skips which are very annoying. They appear approx. 1 time each second. It looks like the dvd hangs on one frame and then continue and I wish to make it go away, but I can't figure out how. On the monitor there seems to be no frame skips but on the TV they are visable.

I tried OC my P2 450MHz --> 504MHz but it didn't help.

The G400 is sharing IRQ 11 with my adaptec controller, but with my previous 2 display adapters that hasn't been an issue.

That's the issue here, without a doubt.
The G400 cannot handle IRQ conflicts. It's something you have to live with as a G400 owner. I'm assuming your DVD player is SCSI, which is why you see the skips there.
Juggle your PCI cards, make changes, and remove that conflict, and the good money says your problem goes away.

No I dont have a SCSI DVD, I use a Hitachi GD2500 Atapi device, but ill try and move the card to another slot and see what happens.

I have a PIII 450MHz with a Max, and there doesn't seem to be any frame skipping here...are you using the default engine that came with the DVD player?

If it still does it after sorting out the IRQ sharing, I bet you're playing NTSC (region 1) DVDs out to a PAL TV (as in the UK for example). This is a known problem with the G400s and hopefully will be fixed soon.

I have the same problem and I'll bet that Steve is right.

Steve do you know if this problem is being worked on? If not Im afraid I'll have to buy a new tv that supports ntsc

Damn that didn't cross my mind that I used PAL tvout when watching NTSC region1 DVD's, well I will change the TV out to NTSC since my TV supports that, thanx for all the help.

Is this annoying bug already solved?
I mean, it works when switching to NTSC, but my tv-image gets a lot worse from doing that (more interlacing it seems).
Is it a driver problem (DVDMax) or some problem in the DVD player?
