  • HELP! Fatal Exception VXD

Can anyone help out in this?
After installing MAtrox Millennium G400 into my VIA MVP3 AGP chipset motherboard - my computer will hang and display the blue screen massage "Fatal exception at ...vxd files" upon shutting down or restarting.
Any kind soul to help me out?

    Thanks,
    edcheong

Do you have the latest 4 in one patch from VIA?

      Hi edcheong,
Follow these simple steps in order:

Download the new G400 drivers, download the 4in1 driver pack from Via, download the uninstall utility from Matrox, run the uninstall utility, reboot switch to standard Vga adapter and reboot, install the 4in1 driver pack in normal mode reboot and go into your bios and disable "read around write" save settings and exit, boot into windows and run the setup for Powerdesk(the G400 drivers), reboot and you should be up to speed.

You may also consider using drivers 5.25,as 5.30 and certian mobo's with via chipsets don't get along.

          Alfie,
AFAIK, there are only problems with G200's and PD5.3 on SS7 systems. The G400's should be fine.

Thank you for that bit of info.
As it helped push me towards upgrading from g200 to g400.
