  • G400 Max and IRQ problem

Hi just a quick question. I have my G400 Max installed on IRQ 5, it works fine but I've heard people complaining of problems with a low IRQ. I was wondering how do I change my card to a higher IRQ like 9 or above. IRQ 9 is free. Plus when I try to change the IRQ in Device Manager it doesn't let me. Also how do I get rid of the USB controller on IRQ 11 since I don't use the USB ports.

Your BIOS should have a Pnp/PCI devices section. In that section, turn off "Assign IRQ to USB". Also you could disable/reserve IRQ 5, which might force the G400 to 9. More details on motherboard would help...
