  • How far do you overclock you're G400(MAX)

Using the Matrox tweak util I have set the slider to 114,9 on all resolutions with my vanilla G400 32MB DH, if I set it higher I begin to notice screen corruptions, how far can you go ?

So, it would appear that we're talking about overclocking vanillas on this thread. I think you're also talking about the Matrox Tweak and not MGA Tweak, just a guess.

Anyway, my vanilla handles 120% or so ok. It does start to look a bit funny from there on up. I run it at 119 just to play it a bit safe. I know someone, I think it was DuRanGO (sorry if I don't capitalize the correct letters) suped up his vanilla by putting heatsinks on his memory and some sort of rig on the processor. I don't recall the stats, but I think it pretty much rocked. As I recall, he's playing with a MAX now.

Thanks James, I meant the Matrox tweak and not the MGA tweak util. I was also curious how far you can overclock the Max and not only the vanilla g400.

Running my Max at 120% or 180 core/240 memory

I found that MGATweak with it's ability to "tweak" the memory settings works way better, especially (why doesn't that word look right?) on the vanilla's, also, even if the heatsink seems to be cool to the touch, it doesn't mean that the chip is , Tennmax has a little heatsink/fan combo called lasagna BGA with pushpins that fit right into the board!
