  • dvd giving me the jitters!!

any one else have this problem?

I have a 32mb dh g400 attached to a pal tv via a composite scart connection. great picture, great sound but when i play region 1 discs i get a pause at a rate of one a second. it looks as if there are not enough frames being produced by the computer to keep up with the tv. On the monitor the reproduction is fine. when i play region 2 discs the jitter is gone. is there a patch or something i can use for this or am i nackered?

    cheers

Try this... Just go to "Matrox DVD Player" in the windows control panel. Then, under the "video" tab, check the box titled "enable 3:2 pulldown reconstruction".

Sounds like you are running a NTSC disc in PAL? The NTSC standard uses 29 pictures per second, while the PAL standard uses 24 pictures per second.

So if you a running a NTSC movie in PAL mode, some of the pictures are not shown.

Try to check the NTSC checkbox under the DualHead property page.

Or go grab DVD Region Selector from www.inmatrix.com and select Soft_DeInterlace as the surface mode. This will convert the NTSC signal to a PAL signal.

sc you're a genius. The jitter problem is now solved. thanks for your help.

I also have tried the 3:2 pulldown before but that seems to be for playiing discs via ntsc.

I have the same problems, but whenever I try to enable software-deinterlacing, the dvdplayer wont start, it just says that it has performed an illegal act in file cinmstr32.dll.

I hope someone can help me with this
