I don't believe many people have gotten 2x to work with the ali chipsets, download Sisoft Sandra and it will tell you if it's 1x or 2x

Who says that G400 doesn't work with ALi V chipset, and in particular the Asus P5A or P5AB boards?

I'm running my OEM G400 16Mb SH at AGP2x, Bus-Mastering enabled and at 112Mhz, rock stable.

Enabling AGP2x for G400 on ALi V chipset juz needs installing ALi AGP v1.60e drivers, and some changes to ALi V AGP Registry settings and you are all set for AGP2x!

There's a phrase "you'll never know until you try it..."

PCIList, available on this board in the download section, also tells you whether your system can handle AGP2x.

If your system is "shy" at going to AGP2x, even when it's supposed to be capable of doing it, you can use the RegHacks, also available on this board (so handy isn't it).

              The specific file is... ForceAGP2x.reg

I tried playing around with the G400 settings (e.g. bus mastering, etc.), but that never helped. It wasn't until I used ForceAGP2x.reg that my system would budge.

So, my system runs fine with all the nice G400 settings enabled at AGP2x.

However, I haven't noticed much of a performance difference or increase in 3DMarks.
