how to change irc in g4oo

can anyone point me in the right direction on changing the irc setting in my g400?
i just turned my usb on and when puter is booting bios reads out my add on cards irq and gives usb irq 10 {which is only irq free}but in windows system it places irq for usb to irq 9-same as my g400.tried changing it in windows.i got all the drivers updated and bios.i am above average puter hardware nerd and am quite "close" to my hardware.

Okay, IRQ I guess... Reboot your PC and enter the BIOS. Go to the PNP and PCI Setup.
Set PNP OS installed to No.
Give SLOT 1 IRQ 10, but be sure that PCI slot 1 is NOT occupied with any card. And SLOT 1 is the slot next to your AGP slot.

Leave the rest alone, or do check at IRQ 10, that it isn't used by an ISA card.

Press escape, save the changes and reboot.
Windows MUST set the G400 on IRQ 10 now.

If not, come back and report what you did/found...

i cannot asign irq directly to the pci slot 1
is the any software i can use to manipulate the usb or g400?

you can try to reserve one of your IRQs in your BIOS to legacy ISA so that windwos puts them elsewhere... You could also disable the PNP OS option in your BIOS and see if it will keep the IRQ it was initially on.
