  • Power DVD better than Matrox DVD player?

This may sound strange but the newest powerDVD 2.0.906, looks as good as the matrox player...BUT no hiccups, corruption, lines, etc. I realize that it is generally accepted that the cinemaster engine is the best, but I thought "what the hell" and gave powerdvd a shot. It's working great and you can screen capture to boot.
For those having trouble this may be a solution worth trying.

I still think the latest WinDVD is better than both PowerDVD and Cinemaster, fo rboth sound and quality.

This is just my opnion though.

PowerDVD does not use overlays, hence very little corruption problems but slower display and quality.

      Having tested PowerDVD, WinDVD and
      Cinemaster 9x on my K6-III 400, G200 PCI,
Toshiba MD1212 equipped PC my vote goes
to Cinemaster because its the only one
      that produces smooth playback.

      Cheers
      Still using a G200 PCI...

The latest PowerDVD actually shows some free cpu time with my K6-3 448, that would be 2.0,915, which is heavily protected, 30 days and 5 minutes of sound. I even contacted them about buying it, but they basically told me to forget it, I'm be better off buying a decoder card at the price.
